At the curbside check-in, Kimbie's bag weighed in at 49.0 pounds, so nothing had to be removed. Her friend Jordan was a half pound over, so he had to remove his sleeping bag liner and put it in his backpack. The line for security was longer than I've ever seen it, but it moved pretty quickly. We chatted with other parents while they waited. I just got an email from FlightAware informing me that the flight departed at 7:56. They're on their way!
One of the chaperones on the trip is keeping her own blog of the trip so that might be fun to check every so often.
