Lava everywhere

Kimbie and friends at Holei Sea Arch on Friday. The rain that had been in the forecast all week finally arrived and changed some of their plans. These pictures were on the coastal lava hike, including a shot of where the road is covered by lava. Below is a satellite view of the same spot (from Google Maps) showing the road disappearing into the expanse of lava.
Today they have a choice between spending time at the beach (elevation 0 feet) or going to the Mauna Kea summit (elevation 13,796 feet). Haven't heard from Kimbie which she will do. Tomorrow they fly to Maui.
